The Ukiah Garden Club’s annual holiday sale returns on December 5 – The Ukiah Daily Journal

On Sunday, December 5, the Ukiah Garden Club invites the public to its Club House for a return to the annual holiday sale, after a year-long hiatus. This is the club’s most popular public event, and club members enthusiastically craft a selection of wreaths using the freshest branches, berries, cones and decor for sale.

Located at 1203 W. Clay St. in Ukiah, the Ukiah Garden Club will be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m., selling not only beautifully decorated natural wreaths, but also garlands, scented pine cones, homemade jams, bulbs, floral centerpieces, handcrafted ornaments and an assortment of other holiday treasures.

Ukiah residents always flock to the holiday sale, and wreaths still sell out, so head to the sale early for the best selection. In addition, pre-orders are being taken for the “Forever” Green Wreath and Pinecone Wreath pickup on December 5 by calling 707-477-3957.

“We have had to suspend most in-person club activities for almost two years due to the pandemic,” said Garden Club president Patty Morgan. “This has resulted in a budget deficit as we prepare to make major repairs to our clubhouse, so this event is important for us to replenish our budget for much needed home improvements. “

Most club members have already been vaccinated, but all will meet mask and social distancing requirements indoors, with many items for sale on display outside. Visitors will also be invited to peruse the new free take-it-and-leave-it library that the club has located in the front yard, which often features gardening books and periodicals members want to share.

For this year, the club will not be able to offer tea and delicacies for sale, but perhaps the future will allow a return to all traditional activities.

Payments can be made by cash or check (no credit card please), so bring your grocery bags for some fantastic finds for your home, garden, and vacation. For more information, including information on how to join or renew the membership, contact the Ukiah Garden Club in person during the sale, or contact us at Facebook.com/UkiahGardenClub, and have a great time.
