Regions Financial (RF) approved as Freddie Mac multifamily lender
Financial regions The Real Estate Capital Markets division of the RF Regions Bank subsidiary has become a Freddie mac FMCC Optigo lender of affordable conventional and targeted multi-family housing.
Regions Financial is already a Fannie Mae authorized underwriting and servicing lender, as well as a Federal Housing Administration (FHA / HUD) lender and servicer.
The latest approval will further enhance the company’s lending portfolio within its capital markets division.

Acting as Freddie Mac Multifamily Optigo lender for conventional and affordable loans, Regions Capital Markets offers financing for the acquisition, refinancing or rehabilitation of affordable multi-family properties and at market rates.
Regions Financial remains committed to diversifying its sources of income. It continues to take action on its Simplify and Grow initiative, including streamlining its structure and refining its branch network, while investing in new technologies, distribution channels and other growth drivers.
In June 2021, Regions Bank signed an agreement to acquire home improvement lender EnerBank USA from its parent company, CMS Energy CMS, for $ 960 million. The cash deal is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2021.
So far this year, Regions Financial shares have gained 23% versus 21.5% growth for the industry.
